The Brabazon History Project

BHP BULLETIN Issue No. 58 - May 2007
Compiled and distributed by (Mrs) M.Ann Shevill (nee Brabazon)

I hope that at least a few readers of these Bulletins have noticed that they have not been too regular lately! I hasten to explain that the reason has not been for lack of interest (or indeed news) about the Brabazon Family, it has just been that I have been so committed otherwise that I have not had the time to compile and distribute a BHP BULLETIN.
My apologies for the lapse. In time I sincerely hope to be able to compile at least one more Bulletin - even though I have just celebrated my eightieth birthday! Such fun!
I can assure you that lots of correspondence about family matters, research etc, has been happening, particularly between Michael Brabazon in UK, Shauna Flynn in USA and myself. New members of the clan are constantly being found and added to the Ultimate Brabazon Family Tree and the distribution list for Bulletins.
A Special news item about Michael Brabazon
Editor for our much esteemed Brabazon Archive Website. He and his family will be moving from West Sussex, England to Ireland at the end of May
For the present, Michael advises that mail will be redirected from the old address to the new; his e-mail address will also be changed. He will notify us regarding the Irish addresses in due course.
About the Website, Michael reports that, unfortunately, his friend Ted Slade, who has been extraordinarily supportive managing the IT side of things, has had a run of ill health. However Ted is determined to keep the website in operation - bless his heart and may his health improve very soon.
I know that you will all join me in sending good wishes to Michael, who sends his greetings to the world wide family; he will do his very best to resume contact with us as soon as he is settled in the new abode. (We must then be prepared to contribute again to the cost of keeping the website operative) Bless you all Michael - and good luck with the move.

A Reminder about the Brabazon Family Reunion Cruise planned for November 2007 which Chris Brabazon of Daytona, Florida has dreamt up and organized for our enjoyment. Chris had an excellent response to the original very attractive offer from the Cruise Agent Sandy Demore. November is now not that far away and I for one am getting very excited about meeting family members previously known to me and many new members, and as a bonus the relaxing Cruise life for a few days. Our reservations are aboard the large ship CARNIVAL GLORY.
The length of the cruise is (7) seven days and the ports of call are the Western Carribean - Cozumel and Costa Maya - Mexico, Belize, Nassau - Bahamas.

THE ULTIMATE BRABAZON FAMILY TREE
There is a Brabazon Family Website based in London.
The address is http://www.brabazonarchive.com/ It came about after the last large Reunion in Ireland in 2003. There is constant communication between the Website Editor, an American family member who undertook to keep what is referred to as the Ultimate Brabazon Family Tree, and QFHS member Ann Shevill.
The Tree now comprises many thousands of names. Ann Shevill has an electronic database of family members around the world and compiles and distributes Newsletters by email from time to time - they can be read on the website.

Some frivolity to end this Bulletin; enough from me this time
Genealogy is my pastime - I shall not stray.
It maketh me to lie down and examine half buried tombstones,
It leadeth me into still courthouses,
It restoreth my ancestral knowledge.
It leadeth me into the paths of census records
and ships passenger lists for my surnames sake.
Yet though I wade through the shadows of research libraries & microfilm readers,
I shall fear no discouragement, for a strong urge is with me.
The curiosity and motivation they comfort me.
It demandeth preparation of storage space for the acquisition of countless documents..
It anointeth my head with burning midnight oil.
My Family Group Sheets runneth over.
Surely birth marriage & death dates shall follow me all the days of my life
And I shall dwell in the house of a family history seeker forever
